You start your hike in Hintermartell, which you reach after a 1-hour car drive in the Venosta Velly.
The Plima Gorge offers you breathtaking viewpoints and varied paths. You can find everything from open alpine meadows to moors and rocky slopes on your hike.
You can stop for a bite to eat at the perfectly centrally located Zufallhütte at the end of the gorge.
The highlight of this tour is definitely the "ghost hotel" Paradiso, which has been standing abandoned in the middle of the Plima Gorge for several decades. Enclosed by pines and larches and surrounded by 3,000-metre peaks, this ruin has something mystical and paradisiacal about it. The luxury hotel for rich guests already had 250 beds, post office and telegraph office in the house, butcher, confectioner, hairdresser, masseur, ski instructor, reading room with English fireplaces, sauna and tavern. The heyday of the Hotel Paradiso in the Martell Valley did not last long, it came to an abrupt end with the outbreak of the Second World War. Today, the ruins of the Hotel Paradiso in the Martell Valley can only be visited from the outside, but you can still feel the luxury and charm of the years long gone.
